I need a gun

Now don't jump to conclusions....

Take a look at this.

Can you see them?

They were quite far away.

It's a flock of wild turkeys.

And I see them ALL the time.

These I saw yesterday,

but today on the way to hockey there was an even bigger flock,

right next to the road.

But I was driving, so no pictures.

Only these far away ones.

I don't even know if wild turkey is good to eat.

But I bet it would make great stew.

I see rabbits all the time too.

MMMMmmmmm, rabbit stew.

And deer pass by quite often as well.

Mmmmmmm, venison.

All I'm saying is if I had a gun,
and knew how to use it,

I could potentially have a lot of free meat.

Well,

I wouldn't butcher the deer.

I'd pay someone for that.

But turkey and rabbit I'm sure I could.

Just sayin'.

I'm seriously considering getting my gun licence.

Pretty soon,

homegirl might be packin' some heat.

Unlike this picture of local frozen Tundra.

  1. Ah, the frozen tundra. Home sweet home!

Yes, girl. You do need a gun. To protect your chickens if for no other reason... although, considering the good genetic line you come from... I suppose a rake would do the trick in an emergency. ;)

  2. You're right; that tundra is packing lack-a-heat.

I was thinking about getting my gun license, too. Especially since I made a typo and wrote "fun license", but then I corrected it, but then I thought it was correct all along...

    Yea. That's why I don't own a gun.

  3. You should get one. You need protection, and rabbit stew sounds good. I'd eat that, if you invite me over for dinner. I'd even wear the pelt around my collar because I h**e P**A.

  4. Jess !!! You remembered!! So nice to know that the only commenter that isn't a family member knows the family stories.

    Have we adopted you yet?

If it weren't for the cost, I'd have myself a gun. Less messy than a rake, maybe.

    Or maybe not.

  6. Now I'm going to start singing "Heather's got a gun..." instead of Janie. ;)

The problem with a rake is that you have to get pretty close... and unlike skunks, turkeys know you're up to no good when you're clutching one. ;)

  7. Yeah, unlike domestic turkeys, wild turkeys actually have brains and are quite tricksey and crafty. I doubt you could catch one with a rake... although I wouldn't put it past Mom. That lady has skillz.

If Ty & I move, we'll have to think about getting a gun to protect our animals.. there's a lot more wildlife up in them thar parts than there is here on the highway.
