Dad?
I may be a little too real here sometimes,
but I would NEVER post a picture of my dogs parts on my blog.
But, you're other guess was correct.
YOGRYNCH WINS!!
Mystery picture is of my finger...
gross, eh?
And another thing, Dad.
Why do you only comment on my blog when there is a competition?
Even if only for bragging rights?
You only ever comment if there is a chance to WIN!!
Maybe that's where I get my competitiveness from, hmmmm?
Ok.
Funny story.
The other night,
when it was -29,
the kids and I sat under blankets on the couch and watched Tranformers 2.
That's not the funny part.
After tucking them in I bundles up, and headed out to the barn.
Stepped outside
and heard
Tranformers!
Seriously, dude.
There was that humming buzzing electric metallic sound every where.
I tell myself I'm crazy, and continue out to the barn.....
Get there, and there is more than one "voice."
It's coming from different directions,
some low pitch, some high pitch.
I try to tell myself it's nothing,
but Pax is spooked.
He hears it too.
He's flighty, and nervous, and won't even settle down to eat his grain, till I shut the barn doors.
I say, "Let it be Optimus Prime, or Bumble Bee. Please not Megatron. Or The Fallen!!!"
Pax is still very jumpy, and I try to settle him down,
even though I'm imagining an alien robot invasion.
Finally, I get brave enough to head for the house.
Cyrus is waiting for me, and he doesn't seem too upset.
And, I figure if there was an alien invasion going on, he's be upset.
So, I take the time to investigate.
You know what it was?
Every electrical wire was humming.
The electric fence was a higher pitched buzzing,
the wires at the road were deep almost throbbing, and very loud,
and the ones going to the house were humming, also loud.
So very weird.
So I looked up to try to find out what effect extreme cold has on wires,
but all I found was information on how to wire for extreme cold.
Any one else know?
It was loud, and I'd never heard it before.
Loud and weird enough to spook my horse.
Please assure me it wasn't an alien robot invasion....
And in recent news with Ava:
While sitting on the toilet (her, not me) , she had this conversation with me.
"Mom, tan we do (o as in go) to a tampfire and do(same o as in go) swimmin?"
"You mean go camping at Auntie Adeena's?"
"Yes. Please, please, please?"
"Well Ava, it's pretty cold outside. There's lots of snow. We'd freeze."
"Well, we tould pour water on da snow, and it will do (again, o as in go) away."
" But the water would just turn to ice. 'Cause it's so cold."
She looks at me, brushes her hand in a dismissive gesture, and says,
"Dat's no problem. We tan slide on our bellies."
A problem solver, that's what she is.
In other news,
the deep freeze is finally over.
Heading out to do chores today it was a balmy -9
and I actually said to myself,
"It's warm today!"
It actually heated up to -3, and I was ready to break out the shorts.
Almost.
Tonight there is a LOW of -9.
Hallelujah.
Only a couple more weeks till spring.
You can write a book about just what Ava say's and it would be a best seller for sure!!
ReplyDeleteI had that experience out at the farm, scared the beegeebuz out of me. I didn't watch an alien movie before hand though....that would have kilt me.
I don't know if I've ever noticed buzzing wires... how odd.
ReplyDeleteAva is HYSTERICAL!! She's right, of course. They tould slide on their bellies...
