This lovely lady makes it happen.
She is my sister,
AND a licensed hair stylist.
How cool is that!?!
For the price of chicken and salad,
(Lunch for all our dependants)
I get my hair done.
It’s not like she has anything better to do.
She has 5 kids.
Which doesn’t sound bad.
But when you hear that her last four kids are between 5 and 9 months,
That sounds a little worse.
She’s a busy Momma.
This is me before.
Drab housewife.
I hate this picture.
Loathe it entirely.
But, for the sake of honesty,
I’m posting it anyway.
Ugh.
She mixes her potions….
And this is what I look like after a while.
Now, when I was looking like this,
Nathan came running through the kitchen.
He bumps into me, looks up,
and says,
”You got your hair done? Lemme see.”
He peers up at me and says,
”Looks good. I like it.”
And then runs off to play.
He’s going to make somebody a damn fine husband.
The littles were building a puzzle.
Except for Ava. She’s watching t.v.
Anybody who guesses what she’s glued to wins major props.
And the older boys were busy shooting each other.
So, what do I look like now?
I wanted something different.
Something cool.
And easy.
I was contemplating chopping it all off and getting a funky style.
My sister says to me,
”You’re not ready for short hair.”
I’m like “What?
I know I backseat hairstyle,
and have a little freak fit when you come near me with scissors,
but what do you mean I’m not ready?”
What she really meant,
and was trying to say nicely,
Is that I can’t HANDLE the short hair.
You see, I’m a terrible hair-owner.
I neglect, never get regular trims, never stick to a style,
And never, GASP, use product.
She said, “Let’s see if you can stick with one style,
and come for regular trims every 6 or 8 weeks.
Then maybe you’ll be ready.”
I have to earn the short hair.
So, she gave me an easy breezy cut.
(Not for her, I’m talking the care perspective.)
And, I really like it.
What’s different you ask?
It’s shorter.
And has layers.
And my grays are now coloured.
And I’m happy.
Thanks Sis!
I do like it! :D
ReplyDeleteIt's more sassy or something, with the curls. I like layers. For you, and for me. :)
Nathan kills me! He IS going to make a fine husband, though! :D
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great! I love my haircut, too. New haircuts make you feel wonderful. :)
So so so so much fun. *Snort* funny... 'earn' short hair. (I rock.) And I expect to see you March 30th or so. :p
