A couple questions… And a ride

Why, yesterday, did I not once go to the bathroom without finding somebody else’s business already there?

Not once.

Even when I went just before going to bed, someone had left their stuff.

And only once was it just pee.

And I don’t have a very large bladder.

I frequent the bathroom plenty.

So, I ask you, how does this happen?

I taught them to flush.

Did they forget?

All of them?

On the same day?

I need answers.

Second point of business.

Why did we have May in April, June in May, and April in June?

It’s been darn cold here.

Last night my furnace was on.  In JUNE.

When I went to check the hens before bed, I could see my breath.

You know, I probably can answer this question.

Um…
yeah.  I can answer it.

You know who’s responsible for the cold weather the past week?

Me.

Wanna know why?

’Cause when it was sweltering in May, we still only had winter clothes.

Long sleeve shirts, jeans, sweaters, that sort of stuff.

And we roasted.

Then, last week, I finally got all the clothes switched over from winter to summer.

Got out the shorts, t-shirts, sun dresses.

Put away all the bulky winter stuff.

And BAM.

It’s freezing.

Blame it on me.

It’s my fault.

So, we finally went for a ride today.

It’s been awhile.

And, I remembered to bring my camera, to take pictures!

Here’s my gorgeous boy.

Please ignore the dust on his bum.
They haven’t had their spring baths yet.

“Um, what are you doing over there?”
”Where’s my saddle?”

Notice how skinny he looks from the front?

It’s the jutty hip bones.
He’s got big hips, man.
Bony.
But, makes for a lot of get up and go.
(His halter says, “I love my Horse”, and I do.)

See?
From this angle, not so skinny.

And Kara.
Showing off her nice round bum.
And patiently waiting for Linda.

All loaded up….

And ready to go.
Pax and his pointy butt on the right,
Kara and her round butt on the left.

’Cause Kara’s heavier.

A bit portly.

Just don’t say that in front of her.
It hurts her feelings.

And…..

That is it.

No more pictures.

Oh sure, we had a gorgeous ride through the Hullett Marsh.
Saw deer, and bunnies, and bright blue dragonflies, and bright green frogs, and one HUGE snake, and beautiful bushes in bloom….

and I left my camera with the trailer.

So, got no pictures of tacking up.

No pictures of scenery.

No pictures period.

Someday.

Someday I will succeed in getting pictures of our ride.
But apparently not yet.

  1. Nice pre-ride pics, though.

I'm glad you didn't think to prove that you saw everybody's business left behind. Snort, snicker.

It's certainly COLD this morning. Brrrr. And now I know who to blame.

  2. Ewww.. I hate it when I have to check out everyone else's business. Maybe they were just proud of it, and wanted to show off. ;)

    Nice horsey bums.

You need a neck strap for your camera. I want to see these dragonflies and frogs. (And snakes. And post the picture REALLY BIG so it freaks out Jeff. ;) Muahahahahahahaaa)

  3. It was an awesome ride.

If Heather had taken her camera, she could have gotten about a zillion photos of black flies and mosquitoes and midges. We had lots of fun with those.

  4. Nice to have someone to blame for the cold.

Linda, don't you have a perfectly good camera that can take pics too?

    Hum?
