This is Patrick.
He’s my brother.
I used to change his bum.
Now he’s 6’4”, or something ridiculous,
and has giant muscles that he likes to show off.
We don’t see him much, as he’s a Masonry Labourer with long hours, and works in Kitchener, and lives in Wellesley.
On Good Friday my family got together and went for a walk in the Hullett Marsh.
Right at the trail head, my girls got a ride.
It’s good to have uncles.
But from then on, whenever I spotted Emma, she was with Patrick.
I stopped looking for the little pink shirt, and started looking for the gargantuan Blonde, ‘cause I knew Emma would be right there.
Whether it was among everyone else,
Or by themselves.
Running uphill….
Or running down.
BTW, running downhill blind, with a six-year-old on you shoulders, is talent.
In my book, anyway.
It was cute.
Thanks, Pat, for being patient with her, and building a relationship.
And for taking a break from killing imaginary people and spending time with us.
You're welcome. ^^
ReplyDeleteAnd, btw, you have some awesome pictures in this post. :p
I thought it was great of you, Patrick, to be such a caring uncle to a little girl. She loved the attention! Good on ya!
ReplyDeleteNice pics, Heather.
The "running blind" one is hilarious!!! :D
ReplyDeleteLooks like he stopped on purpose to strike a pose... and then you notice Emma's hair is still flying. :D
He's a keeper that Pete.
